Job Purpose

To support and lead a team function within the warehouse in order to deliver the expected customer service in terms of quality, cost and lead time (on time in full shipment) and report results in a timely manner. Ensure their team is effectively and efficiently managed and any performance issues dealt with promptly in support of their Team Leader

 Responsibilities:

Health & Safety

  •  Ensures that the site and Associates are protected at all times by the correct administration and observation of all H&S procedures and practices.
  • Is responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all associates.
  • Acts at all times to ensure that the site practices are compliant with our central environmental commitments.
  • Ensure that a score of xx% is achieved on H&S Audit, by supporting Senior Management & any action plans are implemented as directed.
  • Carry out the duties of a Fire Marshall as directed by the H&S Officer.

Managing People and Resources

  • Participates in Investigations and 1st Line DPs (note taker)
  • Conducts RTWs for any Associates when required.
  • Duty of care for company resources.
  • Reports productivity by department, on a daily basis, to their Team Leader.
  • Feedback on team members performance, addresses day to day instances regarding productivity and behaviours.

 

Planning and Budgeting

  • Plans staff activity in line with projected volumes to optimise productivity.
  • Assists in the planning of the daily workload and the development, in line with Site strategy, of Departmental Action Plans.
  • Ensures that the team retains the correct levels of support to complete tasks.

 

Delivering Excellence

  • Delivers “exceptional customer service” to both internal and external customers and ensures that his/her team also does this.
  • Supports and coaches their associates, where possible, so they can enhance their skills.

 

Supporting the Business

  • Maintains a level of warehouse system knowledge to support the team as a ‘Key Operative’.
  • With staff training and development, provide a reduction in warehouse related errors.
  • Contributes towards operational initiatives and cross functional projects to increase
  • Productivity, drive down operational expenditure and ensure a reduction in error rates.

Networking and Communicating

  • Communicates with other departments about any operational issues that may effect the customer.
  • Keeps their Team Leader informed of any operational problems and possible solutions.

Security

  • Ensures that the DC is secure at all times and that processes are in place to minimize stock losses.
  • To report all Security measures and processes as governed by Loss Prevention guidelines.
  • To conduct Associate searches as required by the site management.

 

Knowledge, skills & experience

  • Professional Qualification preferred
  • 6 to 12 months experience and/or training
  • 1 years all round experience of warehouse
  • Operations, including the supervision of people
  • 1 years working in a service environment
  • 1 years working with warehouse managed
  • Systems
  • Workable knowledge of MS-office
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of local language, spoken and written
