 Job Purpose

 

To communicate, record and monitor all aspects relating to the continuous improvement program within the supply chain at Staples UK (known as “Continuous Staples Improvement – CSI”.)

 

To equip all supply chain colleagues with the necessary knowledge and skills to operate and adopt the CSI way of working, effectively. Ensuring education and communication to raise awareness of the relevant tools and control documentation. Clearly and widely communicating of the current status of each functional area and improvement topic and highlighting any achievements, blockages and overdue tasks.

 

To provide admin and coordination support to the Rockingham site, including but not limited to ordering/ ensuring supplies are at the correct levels and replenished, payroll/Health and Safety and Facilities admin support, cover support, reception cover, etc. 

 

Approximately 50% of time and effort should be allocated to CSI activity; with the balance of time being allocate to admin/ site coordination and ad-hoc projects.

 

 

Critical results

  • Maintenance of master backlog control documents, ensuring that results and benefits are recorded and kept up to date by across all functional areas
  • Using the principles of this program, work with management to help create a culture of empowerment
  • Promote buy-in of the CSI way of working  though positive engagement and interactions with all colleagues
  • Contributing to the smooth running of the site
  • Ensuring projects and tasks are completed on time and to budget (if applicable)

 

Responsibilities

  • To work with the European Supply Chain continuous improvement leader to ensure that the controls are in place to ensure that we extract maximum value from the program, acting as the link between UK and EU in respect of all CSI communications.
  • Monitor functional activity boards to ensure they are relevant and contain up-to-date information and audit the quality and frequency of functional communications (“Stand-ups”).
  • Highlight any blockages or overdue tasks to management at the earliest opportunity.
  • Highlight and widely communicate any major successes or achievements at customer, task or employee level
  • Ensure each functional area has a strong pipeline of improvement topics
  • Arrange and schedule periodic meetings to review progress (and for ad-hoc reasons as required) and schedule periodic meetings with line manager and Head of Supply Chain to set priorities for improvement topics and to review benefits and control documents.
  • To embed CSI into the culture of the site and how we work. Thus making the program sustainable for the long term
  • To provide admin and coordination support to the Rockingham site, including but not limited to ordering/ ensuring supplies are at the correct levels and replenished, payroll/ Health and Safety and Facilities admin support, cover admin support, reception, etc. 
  • To lead and coordinate projects that support improvements for the customer, the business or colleagues.

 

 

Knowledge & experience

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years warehouse operational experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ admin, projects and /or supervision experience
  • A genuine belief and passion for continuous performance and personal experience of working with these principles
  • Experience of leading small to medium size operational projects or Admin / back office support experience
