Job Purpose

 To support the business in all warehouse activities ensuring a level of quality and accuracy (measured by perfect order), attendance and performance is achieved individually as well as in a team.

Acts with professionalism and integrity at all times when dealing with colleagues, visitors and both internal and external customers to ensure company standards and customer expectations are met.

 

Critical results

  • Achieve departmental targets on Productivity and Quality within the Distribution Centre
  • Adheres to all Health & Safety Policies and Procedures to ensure a safe working environment for associates and visitors
  • Adheres to all Company Policies and Procedures as per the Company Handbook.
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written in the local language (English)

 

Responsibilities

  • Delivering Excellence
  • Delivers exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Personally responsible for meeting individual targets of efficiency and quality in line with team objectives and seeks feedback from their line manager should they not be met

Health & Safety

  • Ensures all health and safety guidelines are followed as laid out by the Company’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, for the protection of self and colleagues whilst at work
  • Planning and Budgeting
  • To have an understanding of how personal performance, attendance, time management, quality and accuracy has an impact to the business and any financial implications associated

 

Housekeeping

  • Ensures that all work areas are clean and free from unnecessary waste
  • Works as part of a team to ensure that all communal areas are clean and free from unnecessary waste
  • Networking and Communicating
  • Communicates effectively with line manager about any operational issues which may affect the customer, or escalates through the structure as necessary
  • Informs Team Leader of any operational problems and possible solutions
  • Required to follow any reasonable instruction made by the management team, in line with task completion

Security

  • Adhere to the Company’s Security Policy and Search procedures at all times
  • Report any Staples employee, including members of the management team and Security Team, for breaching the Company’s Security and Search Policy, which could affect the safety and security of their colleagues and/or stock

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Warehouse Distribution experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of warehouse systems and processes is desirable
  • Capability of manual handling up to 25KG
  • Experience of working within large teams or on your own ability, in a fast paced environment
  • NVQ Level 1 in Warehouse and Distribution is desirable
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in the local language
  • Attention to detail

 

Skills

  • MHE Licences (Desirable)
  • Warehouse Management Systems (Desirable)
  • Basic PC skills (Excel, word)
  • Flexible approach and self-motivated
